The Deseret Morning News published an article today explaining the church's new "Slow-Track" program. Finally, something in the church that I excel at.
oh sad day! the gist is that the Deseret Morning News published an article that was an April Fool's joke describing how the church was implementing a new program for the slackers.
When I first read it I knew it had to be a joke since some lines could be taken so offensively. exhibit a: those who are "not top-level celestial material" can still make it into the bottom tier if they visit teach 4 x a year, go to church once a month, have family/personal prayer once a week, etc.
They disabled the site because of 1. the confusion, 2. the angry response, and 3. because it did make people feel depressed. Here they thought that the church finally put out a program that they could be perfectly compliant with.
